Esports data and analytics company GRID has announced a partnership with tournament organisers IO Esports and EPULZE ahead of their upcoming Dota 2 Major in Bali.
GRID will provide data services for the event, including data distribution and management. The company will also offer data-related security services and integrity monitoring.
The estimated dates for the Bali Major are June 30th to July 9th 2023.
IO Esports is a Malaysian esports event organiser that was chosen by Valve to head the Bali Major. IO Esports will work alongside EPULZE, a company that already produced one Major this year.
EPULZE and marketing agency EBN are working closely with Valve to produce the SEA segment of the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit. The Bali Major will mark the first time that a Dota 2 Major is taking place to Indonesia.
The event is the latest in a string of tournaments that Valve is working with GRID. The data company has already secured data rights for all the DPC regions, but GRID said it is also securing additional touchpoints for every tournament.
The data company also recently partnered with esports betting services provider Oddin.gg to help regional organisers of the DPC with data, integrity monitoring solutions, and betting-focused projects.
Moreover, GRID recently launched a VALORANT data portal alongside Riot Games, a new home for the title’s in-game data that lets teams obtain data from VALORANT Champions Tour matches and private scrims.
Charlie Hanley-Nickolls, Chief Procurement Officer at GRID, commented on the partnership: “Southeast Asia’s growth in esports has been meteoric over the past few years and it’s a real pleasure to see a Dota Major coming to Bali.
“IO has had an incredible few years as a company and we’re really excited about what they can achieve with this event. We’re proud to expand our partnership with Valve’s circuit and continue our long history of collaboration with IO.”
