Serie A second-best side Lazio will look to keep their status as the best of the rest this Saturday when they travel to the San Siro to play top-four hopefuls AC Milan.
Milan are one of the six teams battling for the remaining three positions in the top four behind Napoli. Back-to-back home matches seemed like a good opportunity for them to climb up the table in their quest for a top-four finish, but a surprising 1-1 draw against Cremonese dented those hopes.
That result served as their fourth stalemate in five league outings (W1), leaving them two points behind fourth-placed Inter ahead of this round.

Despite those draws, Milan have won five of their last eight competitive home matches (D3) and will hope a swift return home to face Lazio can start their final push here, considering they won three of their four home Serie A outings against sides currently above them in the table (L1).
Still, the threat of another stalemate looms as Milan is one of three teams in the top-five European leagues to have recorded nine draws in 2023.
Meanwhile, Lazio will travel to San Siro for the second time in eight days looking to record back-to-back league wins after back-to-back defeats before their last outing.
Maurizio Sarri’s side comes into this tie on the back of a 2-0 win over Sassuolo. That win helped them maintain the dream of a second-placed finish alive, though they now face fierce competition from Juventus for that spot.
Despite being the joint-second-best away team in Serie A this season (W9, D4, L3), two of Lazio’sLazio’s three away league defeats came against fellow Champions League hopefuls Juventus and Inter. Those games were responsible for 60% of Lazio’sLazio’s ten away Serie A goals conceded this term.
That record could also get worse, given the visitors have lost each of their last three away H2Hs against Milan, conceding nine goals in the process.
Meanwhile, four of the last six head-to-head meetings between both sides have scored a goal inside the opening ten minutes. So a first-half goal prediction will be good for this game.
