Running an ice cream shop isn’t just about scooping flavors anymore. These days, it’s also about getting noticed. In my experience, small touches like custom packaging make a big difference, especially during special events or promotions.
When we started planning for local fairs and community festivals, we wanted to stand out. Our cones were tasty, no doubt, but the question was—how do we grab people’s attention from the first glance? That’s when we decided to try custom sleeves and trays. The results were better than I expected.
During a spring carnival, we printed colorful cone sleeves with flowers, our shop logo, and a small coupon code. People noticed them right away. They asked if they could keep the sleeve, and many came back later to use the discount. At the same time, we added Waffle Trays to help customers carry their cones more easily. They were clean, bright, and super handy.
Every event is a chance to connect with customers. If someone is walking around a crowded festival, what will make them stop at your booth instead of another? For us, it was a mix of friendly smiles, fun signs, and bright custom sleeves.
I remember one Fourth of July, we printed sleeves with fireworks and tiny American flags. Kids loved them. Parents took photos. And guess what? Our sales were better than the previous two weekends combined.
Promotions are also a great time to use cone sleeves. During our "Flavor of the Month" campaigns, we print the name of the featured flavor right on the sleeve. It’s like a walking ad, and it helps keep our message clear without needing extra posters.
One thing I worried about at first was how hard it would be to design and order the sleeves. But it turned out to be very simple. We used basic art files and worked with a supplier who could guide us through the process.
Even though I don’t have a design background, I had fun picking out colors, patterns, and little slogans. The printing was quick, and the sleeves arrived ready to go. It didn’t take long to make them part of our usual prep for events.
People pay attention. It might be quick, like a glance. But they notice how things look and feel. When your cone has a creative sleeve on it, it shows that you care. It helps create a full experience, not just a quick treat.
These little extras show that you’re putting thought into what you do. That builds trust. It also gives customers a reason to come back or tell friends about your place.
We don’t have a huge marketing budget. But with custom sleeves, we get a lot of value from a small investment. Every cone that leaves our booth is a tiny ad. It shows our colors, our name, and our fun personality.
We also change designs for different seasons and events. For example, in October, we use orange and black with spooky patterns. In December, we go for snowflakes and red ribbons. These designs keep things exciting.
In one of our community events, someone actually asked if we could make a sleeve that matched their wedding colors. It made us realize how versatile sleeves could be. We even did a few custom orders for birthday parties.
I always thought these small things wouldn’t matter much. But after seeing the results with my own eyes, I know better. Custom Cone Sleeves helped turn basic promotions into something customers talked about. They made people feel like part of something fun, even if it was just for a few minutes while enjoying a cone.
Custom sleeves are great for branding, especially during special events.
They help customers remember your business and talk about it.
Small design efforts can make a big impact on customer experience.
If you’re just starting out with custom packaging, begin with a small batch. Test it out during one event and see how people react. Don’t stress about fancy designs. Even simple logos and bright colors can grab attention.
Also, think about how you’ll store and hand out the sleeves. Keep them near the serving station so it’s easy for your team to use them without slowing down service.
Try adding a little message too—like a fun fact, short joke, or your social handle. This helps people feel connected to your shop.
If you're running a deal, don’t just post it on a sign. Print it on the cone sleeve! It’s a great way to get people talking. One time we printed a simple line: “Show this sleeve to get 10% off your next cone.” We had dozens of people come back just for that.
Even better, cone sleeves give us a chance to show personality. During a local dog parade, we printed sleeves that said “Paw-some Treat Inside!” It was silly, but it made people laugh—and laughers are buyers.
They help your cones stand out and serve as small, mobile ads. People notice them and remember your brand.
Yes. They're cost-effective and easy to design. You don’t need a big team or budget.
Absolutely. We do this all the time for events and seasonal deals.
Usually just a few days, depending on the design and quantity.
Yes. Many customers mention them or even keep them as a fun memory.
Of course. We use them every day, and we switch the designs based on the month or local happenings.
Special events come and go. But a smart cone sleeve can leave a lasting impression. Give people something fun, colorful, and memorable with their treat. It’s one of the easiest ways to stand out without doing anything too fancy. From big festivals to small in-store promos, sleeves make your cones a little more exciting—and customers will notice every time.
