Hi everyone,
I have been interested in the Daytona 6265 for the longest time, and finally decided to get one.
Unfortunately, I do not have much experience within the vintage watch world, as this will be the first and probably last vintage watch I will purchase, and I would really appreciate any and all advice I can get.
Based on the seller's information (watch dealer), the watch does not come with box and papers, although it does come with a service estimate from a local Rolex Service Center. It appears that the watch has been polished once, and that the bracelet may have been replaced during the service, but everything else remains original to the watch. This example is estimated to have been made in 1986 based on the 9,3xx,xxx serial number.
Final asking price is $74k, including all taxes.
I am pretty set on this watch, it looks to be in overall great condition, however, I would like your confirmation that the watch is all original (except for the bracelet), I am not overpaying, and that the overall values for 6265s won't dip significantly over the long term (not that I am planning to sell it in the future).
I am planning on taking the watch to a local vintage watch dealer/expert to confirm its authenticity and originality.
Please let me know your thoughts and if there is anything I should ask the seller.
Thank you so much in advance!
