The Xbox’s fourth generation consoles, Xbox Series S and X, have been around for three years. Forbes estimates that 20 million console units have been sold since the product’s launch. Along with Sony’s PlayStation, the Xbox has dominated the console market for two decades, providing gamers with incredible video games. The console plays some of the best games in the market and has some excellent exclusive titles in its catalog.
Let’s take a brief look at some of the best Xbox Series S and X games.
Elden Ring@ From Software
FromSoftware’s latest won the 2022 Game of the Year award and was entirely worthy of such an honor. Like most FromSoftware games, Elden Ring review is challenging, but it’s an evolution of the games that came before. The game also got some creative input from bestselling author George RR Martin.
This was FromSoftware’s first foray into open-world games, adding a new dynamic to the FromSoftware formula. Elden Ring isn’t just one of the best games in recent years; it’s one of the best video games in history.
Forza Horizon 5@ Forza Horizon
Forza Horizon 5 is often considered the greatest car game of all time. With a reputation like that, it would always make this list. One of the criticisms directed towards Xbox has been the quality of its exclusive titles, but games like Forza Horizon 5 question that narrative. It is not a racing game like Need for Speed – it’s a driving game, and you can go about it however you like.

@ Halo
The Xbox console is synonymous with the Halo series, and Halo Infinite is the latest installment in the long-running franchise. Like Elden Ring, Halo Infinite is the franchise’s first open-world game, allowing you to explore the Halo Installation and uncover its mysteries.
Control@ Control
Control is a modern action-adventure take on the Metroidvania style of games. Remedy is known for developing innovative and mind-bending games – Control is from the same tool book. In this game, you take control of Jesse Faden, a director of a secret government agency that keeps a check on the laws of reality. The plot sounds overwhelming, but you’ll get the hang of it with a few playthroughs.
Sea of Thieves@ Rare
Sea of Thieves is another Xbox exclusive like Forza Horizon 5. Instead of long-drawn narratives like Sony’s Last of Us and Uncharted, Xbox’s exclusive titles seem to let the players shape the narrative.
The multiplayer action-adventure game takes inspiration from DayZ and Rust. You play as a pirate and complete voyages on beautiful yet terrifying seas. You can spend hours getting lost in this game – sitting back before engaging in missions is often quite meditative.
