Multinational esports organisation Team Liquid has announced the launch of a major, ‘multi-million dollar’ 3092 m² esports facility in São Paulo, Brazil.
Sponsored by Team Liquid’s long-time partner Alienware, the 13-story facility will house team operations, staff offices, bootcamps, content and production studios, dormitories, events, a shop and more.
Team Liquid has venues in Los Angeles, US and Utrecht, Netherlands, but the São Paulo facility will be twice the size of either of those. Team Liquid claimed the venue is the biggest esports training facility in the world.
A total of 80 staff will be based at the site, which is kitted out with Alienware technology and products from its other sponsors, such as SecretLab. There is space set out for other partners, such as Monster, to activate across the facility.
Team Liquid showed off the building’s myriad use cases and facilities in a virtual press tour last week. 10 conference rooms, dorms for visiting players and staff, dedicated broadcast rooms and content creation booths, training areas, bootcamp spaces and a restaurant that seats 35 all feature across the expansive facility.
Team Liquid also said the space will be used for events — both for fans as well as brand and sponsor activations. The building includes a fan zone, which will host events for the community. In addition, an on-site boutique store — Team Liquid’s first ever physical store — will sell exclusive products not sold in its online shop.
In a press conference, Team Liquid disclosed that the facility had a ‘multi million dollar’ price tag, but declined to reveal the exact cost.
Team Liquid and Alienware said the São Paulo facility was another milestone in their 22-year relationship. “The partnership between Team Liquid and Alienware is the oldest in the esports universe, and Alienware’s technology has been instrumental in allowing our Cavalry to get to where it is,” said Rafael Queiroz, General Manager of Team Liquid in Brazil.
The new facility is a major investment for Team Liquid, which launched into the Brazilian market in 2018. The organisation fields Brazilian teams in Rainbow Six Siege, VALORANT, Free Fire and Fortnite.
In June 2022, Liquid launched a dedicated Brazilian ecommerce platform, and in February this year launched a Brazil-focused betting partnership with Unikrn.
