Hello all!
I recently noticed that from Patek's official website, the number "23" from the date wheel of 5164A or 5164R have different orientations from photo to photo; some of them are reversed from the number "21" and some of them are aligned instead.
Please see the following two photos for example, which are screenshots from Patek's official site:
"Reversed" 23
"Aligned" 23
For the record, below photo is my 5164A and it is a 2016 warranty paper with 5-serial number.
When I check out photos of other 5164s from various forums, I noticed that newer years will have "aligned" 23 on the date wheel.
I understand that since the inception of 5164R and subsequently 5164A, surely there must have been some gradual changes, and so I'm just interested to find out if some of you may know what changes occurred at what year.
The information I gathered so far are below, please kindly correct me if they're inaccurate:
2009 - 5164R introduced.
2011 - 5164A introduced.
2017 - the reversed "23" on the date wheel now aligns with 21
2021(?) - clasp changed, now instead of the "S" shape, it is replaced with Calatrava logo/shape.
2022(?) - movement changed from calibre 324 S C FUS to calibre 26-330 S C FUS (with hacking seconds)
Thanks and cheers!
