The 80th Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco started with clear blue skies as racers assembled at the starting line. As the race developed, black clouds loomed over the race circuit which eventually poured as the drivers competed for the first place. The wet and sloppy condition, however, did not dampen the atmosphere. One thing is for sure, it only adds to the excitement of the race and showcases the driver’s expert driving skills. After 78 laps, double world champion Max Verstappen took home the trophy and earned Red Bulls its sixth win of this season.
Following behind the Dutch racer was Fernando Alonso, just 27 seconds behind the winner and Esteban Ocon completed the podium in third place. Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton took the fourth place. Verstappen’s win at Monaco constitutes his fourth for the season and second in Monaco. So far, he has won 39 races.
In celebration of this glamorous event, Louis Vuitton and Automobile Club de Monaco presented an unprecedented Trophy Travel Case which contained the winner’s trophy. The French maison has partnered with the Monegasque organiser for the last two years and this year it continues to be the principal brand to create the travel case. Hand-crafted in the Asnières atelier, the trunk showcases Louis Vuitton’s traditional saviour-faire as a luxury trunk maker while drawing inspiration from the heritage of the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix.
This custom-made trunk features the iconic Monogram canvas with red accents inspired by the Monaco flag. The red lines create a “V” for “Victory” and are bordered by a white stripe, reflecting the unique urban track where driving excellence requires power and precision. The trunk is designed to hold a trophy depicting the 19 turns of the 3.337-km track, and is made in the colours of the Principality.
