The forecast office will be closed until further notice

First, I just wanted to go over why we have td2. In my last forecast, I stated I didn’t think this would become tropical. IF you remember, I always state my forecasts are only as accurate as the information I analyze. The models showed high shear over the next 5 days, and zonal winds at 200 mb. Goes to show you how fast things can change in the tropics. I looked at some things this afternoon at work, low and behold, shear had dropped to 15-20 kts over the “center”, there had been a slight northern outflow channel at 200 mb, and the system is drawing moisture from the Caribbean.

On another note: My oldest son had been having gastro intestinal problems, and had been sick for the past 5 days. I had spoken to him last night, and he said the nausea had settled somewhat, but he was still really sore, and if he wasn’t feeling better by 7:00 p.m., he would have a roommate take him to the hospital. I called him from work numerous time today and texted as well, and still no reply. My wife called the local hospitals, and he was not admitted to any. So, I decided to stop at his apt. on the way home from work to check on him. When I walked into his bedroom, I found him dead in his bed. Just got back home after the coroner took him away.
