The esports commercial market in the US is the second largest in the world, behind China, however the country leads when it comes to industry investment.
Esports betting company Rivalry has announced a private placement financing resulting in proceeds of up to CAD $10 million (~£5.8m).
Led by bookmaker Pinnacle, the financing round will enable Rivalry to accelerate its growth opportunities and operational goals. This month the company also revealed its financial results for 2022 as a whole.
Hong-kong based esports organisation Talon has announced a partnership with bookmaker 1xBet.
The online betting and gambling company will now serve as Talon’s main partner for its Dota 2 division. Organisations such as OG Esports, Natus Vincere and HellRaisers have previously been sponsored by 1xBet.
The Pinnacle Cup, a CS:GO tournament series organised by sports and esports betting company Pinnacle, has announced it will return to run more CS:GO events in 2023.
The Cup will feature four new tournaments during the year and will include a brand new Brazilian circuit which will consist of two events. The Pinnacle Cup is a CS:GO tournament series that is organised by Pinnacle. The latest edition of the tournament took place in 2022, followed by a break.
Swedish esports organisation Godsent has announced a partnership with Estonian betting operator Coolbet.
Coolbet becomes the main sponsor for Godsent’s CS:GO team as well as the exclusive sportsbook partner of the organisation. Financial details and the duration of the partnership were not disclosed. Coolbet, betting company based in Talinn, Estonia, was founded in 2016. The company is owned by GAN Ltd and has licences in Malta, Estonia and Sweden.
Brazilian esports organisation FURIA has renewed its partnership with online poker platform PokerStars for the third consecutive year.
Both parties will collaborate to arrange an exclusive freeroll poker tournament for their respective communities as a way of commemorating the renewal. From April 14th onwards, participants can engage in one-on-one matches against FURIA pros and compete for a chance to win prizes.
Esports data and analytics company GRID has announced a partnership with tournament organisers IO Esports and EPULZE ahead of their upcoming Dota 2 Major in Bali.
GRID will provide data services for the event, including data distribution and management. The company will also offer data-related security services and integrity monitoring. The estimated dates for the Bali Major are June 30th to July 9th 2023.
