The Esports Awards has appointed Sean Kiely, formerly the Global Head of Gaming and Esports Sales at entertainment platform Fandom, as its new Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

Kiely will focus on strategically driving Esports Awards’ growth internationally, with his addition also bolstering the company’s presence, according to a release.

Kiely joins with decades of experience to his name. He embarked on his professional career as a Morning Show Producer at a local radio station, and sailed into esports in 2018 as a Regional Sales Manager for multimedia tech company Curse, where he spent just under a year there.

He later joined Fandom in January of 2019, where spent four and half years in the Greater Chicago Area overseeing, developing, managing and holding responsibility over market strategies. His role also included driving global sales and building relationships with other notable brands in the industry at the executive level.

Kiely now joins one of the industry’s most recognised award shows, with Esports Awards undergoing a variety of growth efforts over the past few years.  In 2022 alone, the show signed brand-new or extended partnerships with over 12 brands, including ones with Secretlab and Verizon, online travel company Expedia, car manufacturer Lexus, Amazon Music, Coca-Cola, and more.

In a public statement, Mike Ashford, CEO of the Esports Awards, expressed his pride and welcomed Kiely: “We are thrilled with the growth achieved in 2022 and are very proud of the partners who trusted us again last year.
