Esports tournament organiser ESL FACEIT Group (EFG) has announced Fabio Tambosi as the company’s new Senior Vice President of Marketing.
In his new role, Tambosi will be tasked with overseeing the entirety of EFG’s marketing efforts across all channels.
Fabio Tambosi is an executive with varied experience ranging from sportswear and education, to technology and consulting. Tambosi worked at Nokia from 2010 to 2013 before moving to Nike. It was there that he worked on some of the company’s most-known projects, including the Mercurial signature shoes.
Leaving Nike, Tambosi joined Adidas and worked as the company’s Global Head of Brand Communications before leaving to join another sportswear company, Saucony, as its Global CMO. Currently, he also holds positions on the Boards of JUV Consulting and Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business, while also acting as the SVP of Global Marketing for media company OneFootball.
Rodrigo Samwell, CCO of ESL FACEIT Group commented on the hire: “I am incredibly excited to have Fabio Tambosi on board, leading all marketing globally and a member of the commercial leadership team at EFG.
“Under his leadership we will be able to take an important step forward in our journey as we create worlds beyond gameplay, where fans and players become community.”
As the new SVP at the EFG, Tambosi will be a major part of the company’s global growth. The EFG has already announced a large number of partnerships and new projects in 2023, including an esports documentary with Gucci, a partnership with the Cannes Lions Festival and a new Call of Duty: Mobile tournament series.
