Just when we thought that the old OG line-up is gone for good, there are signs of revival from the team at the Dota Pro Circuit 2023 (DPC 2023).
They qualified for the Division 2 of Tour 2 DPC 2023, where they will face Western European staples, such as Team Secret and Alliance.

Old G boasted a line-up featuring three founding members of team OG. Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen and Sébastien “Ceb” Debs. Dota 2 icons that need no introduction, especially after becoming two-time TI champions. Alongside them, Volodymyr “Noone” Minenko and Arif “MSS” Anwar filled the remaining slots.
Even with a high-profile roster, Old G failed to make it past Closed Qualifiers, leaving fans disappointed at the supposedly re-enactment of the OG dream team. This time around, Roman “Resolut1on” Fomynok and Kartik “Kitrak” Rathi replaced Notail and MSS, and magic happened.
Qualifying for Division 2 bracket isn’t exactly the most outstanding Dota 2 accomplishment, it is still a step forward.

Resolut1on has been fundamental in many teams’ underdog run in multiple TI Championships. For instance, when he stood in for Team Empire at TI7 to secure seventh place. And let’s not forget that he’s also a two-time TI Grand Finalist at TI6 and recently TI11.
Resolut1on is certainly the miracle worker Old G needed to advance into Division 2, and eventually Division 1.
Old G in Division 2 WEU Tour 2Now then, even though Old G made it into Division 2, there are plenty of strong opponents awaiting them.
Team Secret got demoted into Division 2 in the first place, but still rocks a seasoned stack. They recently recruited Armel “Armel” Tabios and Daniyal “yamich” Lazebnyy. These players are phenomenal prodigies from their respective regions throughout the recent season.
If anything, Team Secret might just be their biggest challenge in Division 2 yet, so defeating this renowned opponent will be a confidence boost. Alliance and D2 Hustlers are Division 2 staples but have proven to fare well even against Division 1 teams. For the uninitiated, Alliance and D2 Hustlers got the short end of the stick after losing the three-way tiebreaker to Monaspa last Tour.
Perhaps a long shot to call this candidate a formidable threat, but PuckChamp is a staple in Eastern Europe. And they recently moved to WEU and qualified through the qualifiers similar to Old G. During their last encounter, both teams fought neck-to-neck but Old G prevailed in the end to claim the three-game series.
Is Old G going to be the new OG?At the time, Old G seems like a squad made by retired players hoping to spare some free time. But, considering how there’s Noone, Resolut1on, and a newcomer, Kitrak, in the picture. Old G might actually be going after their own organization, OG.
Regardless, it all depends on how well they perform in the Division 2 WEU Tour 2 of DPC 2023. They will need to secure top two seeds before they have any shot at OG in Division 1 bracket of Tour 3.
