PVC Resin K67
PVC resin is a white powder form thermoplastic resin that has great versatility for making plastic products. It is commonly used in making bottles, sheets, calendaring and rigid injection or moulding pipe.
PVC is a thermoplastic material made by compounding varying proportions of stabilisers, lubricants, fillers, pigments and plasticisers. The compounds with the highest short-term and long-term strength have a minimal amount of compounding ingredients.

PVC resin K67 is a non-toxic, general purpose straight polyvinyl chloride (PVC) homopolymer grade obtained through suspension polymerization. It can be applied to soft or rigid products such as pipes, cables, leather- & rigid sheets, hoses, wrap films and sash. It is characterized by good surface properties, short product processing time, plasticizer absorption and excellent insulation.
In PVC, stress/strain response is highly complex and depends both on the rate or duration of loading and the temperature. This is often displayed in a curve of strain versus time at constant stress or a creep modulus.
The most common method for presenting stress/strain data is to plot a curve of the strain versus time at constant stress on a logarithmic axis. In addition to this, a series of curves can be plotted at different stress levels and temperatures, which provides a more complete view.
Another common method is to calculate the Modulus of Resistance, which is the ratio of the stress to the strain at a given temperature. This can be represented by a line on a logarithmic axis and can be used to compute the stress /strain curve for any combination of load, time and temperature.
These curves can also be used to determine the safety factor of a material. In pressure applications, the safety factor is typically applied to the MRS to obtain a maximum operating stress for the pipe material and this is used to dimension the pipe for a range of pressure ratings.
PVC-O pipe is particularly resistant to dimensional change or “reversion”. When a pipe is distorted, it will return to its original form under heat. This is a major advantage over other types of PVC.
PVC resin K67 (also known as PVC-V) is the third most widely produced thermoplastic. It can be used in a wide variety of applications including pipe, siding and trim, profiles such as doors, windows and decking and other industrial and building products. It can also be made softer or more flexible by the addition of plasticisers.
It is available in a range of molecular weights and can be compounded with varying proportions of stabilisers, lubricants, fillers, pigments and plasticisers. The properties of each individual compound can vary considerably, and some compounds may have a lower melting point than others.
One of the major advantages of this material is that it can be recycled, and its recyclability is a strong selling point. The resin is also known for its high water resistance and good chemical stability.
The resin itself is a white powder, but it can be mixed with polyethylene to create different colours and textures. This can then be extruded into many useful items, from bottles to sheets and calendaring.
You can even use it to make a very strong and sturdy cable sheathing. It has many of the same features as aluminium but is much sturdier.
In the US, it is often used for construction pipe. It can also be used in the manufacture of electrical insulation, imitation leather, signs and inflatable products.
Unlike other plastics, it can be manufactured from a powder form and then extruded into shape using injection moulding machines. It is therefore highly versatile and cost competitive.
The LS-100D is the latest addition to Topcon’s laser receiver range. It is designed to make the process of controlling elevation and vertical alignment on site faster, simpler and more precise. It features a large daylight-readable LCD display, an extra-wide beam sensor and strobe light suppression. It is a great addition to any surveyor’s tool kit and is the perfect partner for the RL-H5C, RL-SV2S or RL-200 series.

PVC resin K67 is a homopolymer made by suspension polymerization and can be applied to rigid extrusion processes like pipe, profile or sash. The products made from this material are durable and have excellent mechanical properties.
Plastics are abrasion resistant due to their low elastic modulus and coefficient of friction, which enables them to skid and slide over abrasive particles without abrading the surface. Their ability to give under stress and low unit cost make them an attractive alternative to abrasive materials such as Teflon or Nylon.
The performance of abrasion resistant PVC resin depends on many factors, including: the amount of wear at any one time, duration of loading and temperature. Typically, the performance of an abrasion resistant material is best reflected by a curve illustrating the strain-time relationship at constant temperature.
This is usually expressed as a modulus and can be a very useful tool in designing for abrasion resistance. However, the data presented here is not representative of all the conditions that might be encountered in real life applications and Tecves strongly encourages the user to contact their material supplier for more detailed data.
As with all pressure pipe materials, design stresses need to be adjusted accordingly. Thermoplastics generally decrease in strength and increase in ductility with increasing temperature.
For these reasons, a 97.5% lower confidence limit is applied to the 50-year specification point for PVC-M and PVC-O pipe to ensure that a minimum factor of safety is achieved. This also reduces the risk of under-designing for failure in service.
In general, the long term behaviour of PVC-M and PVC-O is similar to that of fully aged PVC-U, exhibiting greater ultimate strength at a similar stress level. In addition, PVC-M and PVC-O demonstrate improved performance under abrasion in the oriented direction when compared to standard PVC-U under equivalent loading conditions.
PVC resin K67 is a white powder form thermoplastic resin that can be used to make various products. It is widely used for making plastic pipe, sanitary fittings, furniture, etc. It has excellent chemical stability, good water resistance and electrical insulation.
PVC comes in a rigid (sometimes abbreviated as RPVC) and flexible form. The rigid form is used in construction for pipe and profile applications such as doors and windows, bottles and another non-food packaging, cards (such as bank or membership cards), and many other applications where it replaces rubber.
It can be modified to increase its flexibility and strength through the addition of plasticizers such as phthalates. The softer, more flexible form is also called plasticised PVC and is often used in plumbing, electrical cable insulation, imitation leather, signage, inflatable products and many other applications where it replaces rubber.
The stress and strain response of plastics is complex and depends on both time and temperature. It includes an immediate elastic response that is fully recovered when the load is removed and a slower, indefinite deformation known as creep.
Creep rates tend to increase with temperature and it is important to consider the design stresses at a given temperature when designing pipes made from plastics. These properties are represented by a curve of strain versus time at constant stress, normally known as the creep modulus.
A safety factor is applied to this data to provide a confidence in the prediction of long term properties and thereby the resulting design stresses. This factor varies depending on the application and the length of time required for the pressure pipe to withstand its loading conditions.
The new generation of polymers, PVC-M and PVC-O, are more predictable than standard PVC-U in their behavior under long term loadings. These new compounds offer higher toughness, ductility and ultimate tensile strength than the older materials. They also have better corrosion resistance, are more resistant to chemicals and can be manufactured in higher volumes with lower production costs.
PVC resin K67 is the third most commonly used polymer in the world. It is produced in powder form and then combined with a variety of ingredients to make compounds that have specific processing and end-use properties. These include stabilisers, lubricants, fillers, pigments and plasticisers. Various combinations of these materials have been developed to provide the most desirable characteristics for different applications, such as electrical insulation, thermal stability, membrane forming ability and so on.
