In the 8th Century, Adi Shankaracharya revived the temple and since then it has become a symbol of spiritual light. The temple is carpeted with various ancient texts and scriptures, which the place more significant in the modern day.

There is also a Badri Kedar festival celebrated in June. This festival lasts for eight days in various artists from all over the country perform during the function many local rituals are performed.

Roads and the trek-
If you planning to visit the Dham by road you will be required to pre-book the flight or railway tickets and the taxis which will pick you up from Rishikesh. The spectacular views of the valleys of flowers and the waterfall of the Garwhal region make your journey unforgettable. Also, there is a small 3km long trek from the last village before the Dham.
