Despite a slight month-on-month dip in September, China's pneumatic rubber tyre exports showcased an impressive 18.8% year-on-year surge in October 2023, shipping out 48.81 million units. From January to October 2022, the cumulative growth hit 10.0%, with total exports of 511.52 million new pneumatic rubber tyres. However, the industry swiftly rebounded in October following the temporary setback in September, when exports measured 740,000 tons, 51.5 million units, and 13.07927 billion yuan.
Shandong Province emerged as a powerhouse, reporting a significant 20.3% year-on-year surge in rubber tyre export value, reaching 76.65 billion yuan in October. The province's influence extended with Jinan Customs indicating a 15.6% year-on-year rise in automobile tyre exports, totalling 612,681 tons. The cumulative figures for the initial ten months reflected a 15.3% growth in quantity and an 18.8% boost in export value year-on-year.
Amid global demand, domestic tyre companies like Yanchang Rubber Company and Shandong Zhentai Group excelled in export performance. Yanchang Rubber Company witnessed a remarkable 40.02% year-on-year increase, exporting 3.05 million tyres from January to October. Shandong Zhentai Group surpassed expectations with a 25% growth in export earnings during the first three quarters. Meanwhile, Nangang Tyre, situated in the Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone, experienced a 19.8% year-on-year boost in tyre sales to Europe, with export volumes hitting 435 million yuan, prominently featuring snow tyres at over 40%. The industry's triumph was further highlighted by the National Bureau of Statistics, revealing a 15.9% year-on-year surge in rubber tyre casing production, totaling 84.857 million units in October 2023. Overall production output for the initial ten months marked a substantial 14.3% growth compared to the same period last year, reaching 815.685 million units.
